Veteran In-Home Care Services

Serving Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Surrounding Areas

We’re honored to serve the men and women who have served our country with Veteran-focused in-home care services.

As a contracted provider with the VA, we provide compassionate non-medical in-home care for veterans throughout Scottsdale, Phoenix, and the surrounding Arizona communities.

Supporting Veterans at Home

Our caregivers help make aging in place possible by assisting with daily routines while honoring each person’s dignity and way of life.

Our non-medical veteran home care services may include:

  • Companion care and meaningful conversation
  • Personal care and hygiene assistance
  • Meal preparation
  • Light housekeeping
  • Medication reminders
  • Transportation and errands
  • Respite care for family caregivers
  • Alzheimer’s and dementia support
  • Mobility and safety assistance

take the time to understand each veteran’s needs, routines, family goals, and comfort level so care feels personal, respectful, and supportive.

Family Caregivers May Be Able to Get Paid

Many families do not realize that the person already providing care may be eligible to become a paid family caregiver through certain programs.

For eligible veterans, the VA offers caregiver support programs that may provide resources, training, support, and, in some cases, a monthly stipend for approved family caregivers. This can be especially meaningful for spouses, adult children, or loved ones who are already helping with daily care and want to continue supporting the veteran at home.

In Arizona, some individuals may also qualify for long-term care support through AHCCCS/ALTCS. Depending on eligibility and program requirements, family members may be able to provide care through approved member-directed options.

Home With Help can help families better understand their options and point them in the right direction so they can explore whether paid family caregiving may be available.

A Trusted Partner for Veterans and Families

Inviting care into the home is an important decision. Families want to know their loved one will be treated with patience, respect, and consistency.

As a family-owned Arizona home care agency, Home With Help understands the responsibility that comes with caring for someone’s parent, spouse, grandparent, or loved one. Our team is committed to showing up with integrity, communicating clearly, and providing care that supports both the veteran and the family around them.

We also understand that family caregivers carry a great deal of responsibility. If you are looking for professional caregiver support, respite care, or guidance on paid family caregiver options, we are here to help you navigate the next step with care and compassion.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Kind of In-Home Care Can Home With Help Provide for a Veteran?

Home With Help provides non-medical care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation, mobility help, medication reminders, companionship, respite care, and overnight or 24/7 assistance.

Is Home With Help a Contracted VA Provider?

Yes. Home With Help is a contracted VA provider offering non-medical in-home care for eligible Arizona Veterans. The VA determines whether a Veteran qualifies, which services are authorized, and how many care hours are approved.

Will the VA Pay for My Family Member’s In-Home Care?

The VA may cover qualifying home care for enrolled Veterans who meet clinical and community-care requirements. Services and hours depend on an assessment, local availability, and VA authorization. A copay may apply in some cases.

How Do We Begin the Process of Getting VA-Authorized Home Care?

Contact the Veteran’s VA primary care team, social worker, or care coordinator. Ask about Homemaker and Home Health Aide Care and whether a referral or authorization is available. The VA must approve covered services.

Is Aid and Attendance the Same as VA-Authorized Home Care?

No. Aid and Attendance adds money to an eligible VA pension, while Homemaker and Home Health Aide Care is a VA health service. Eligibility and application requirements differ, so families should ask the VA which option applies.

Can a Surviving Spouse Receive Help Paying for Care?

A qualifying surviving spouse may receive a VA Survivors Pension and could qualify for added Aid and Attendance or Housebound benefits. Eligibility depends on service history, relationship, income, net worth, and care needs.

Can Home With Help Give a Family Caregiver a Break?

Yes! Respite care lets a professional caregiver temporarily assist the Veteran while a family caregiver rests, works, attends appointments, or handles other responsibilities. Scheduling depends on care needs and authorization.

How Are Caregivers Selected for a Veteran?

Caregivers complete interviews, reference checks, and background checks and are bonded and insured. Families may participate in selecting a caregiver, and the agency can arrange replacement coverage when needed.
